Will be very disappointed if true, though into his final year of his contract I think that he was one that we could have built the side around especially considering that Rushworth is not ours and the other option is Fisher.

Can't blame him going to pastures new 31 games in 7 yrs.
Surprised he's gone up a league though.

Someone mentioned this was happening a while back, might have been Duffle Coat or backofthenet.

Aye I remember this from three weeks or so ago but after it had gone quiet I had hoped that their interest had gone cold and that we were in line to keep him and try to offer him a deal when he regains his fitness.

After this season ends we will be left in a position where our only senior keeper is Fisher and beyond that looking at the youth setup unless we again spend resources on bringing in someone anew.

I think we can do better than Benda.

This coupled with the facts that we won’t utilise him this season, and he’s chewing up wages and there being a million on the table, makes this a no brainer.

Rushworth is a suitable holding pattern for a season.

Gone up a league to sit on the bench again

Exactly the point. Still not playing but I suspect for more money.
I could never get a job like that.
However why Fulham would sign him is a mystery.

Decent fee considering he has 12 months left but I like him and feel its an opportunity missed for us and might regret it down the line.

We will go with Rushworth and Fisher and revisit the situation in the summer.

Another last week of wheeling and dealing, eggs in the basket to move Benda, Pato and Wood out......tokem loan in and scramble the last day.

Looks like all the words said from May were total bo**ocks and some have fallen for it.
The investment allowed us to do a bit of business prior to some selling.

Looks like lessons have not be learned once again.

We were always going to have an enormous operating deficit to service. Where do you think the funds for that were going to come from?

The investment, as I said.

Considering that Benda has been with the club for a long time in the age group development sides, this move to Fulham suggests:
1. Cashing in (although we have probably paid out more in wages etc in the 7 years he’s been here)
2. He’s not very good and Fisher is a better backup
3. We are crap at developing and giving U23s a real chance
4. All 3 of the above

At the moment I can’t really see the benefit of having a u23 set up because we don’t really give them a chance anymore.

Fisher is definitely in the poorest five Swans goalkeepers I've seen over the years mind. Benda would make the top ten.
Saying that Benda has got himself a fantastic chance to prove me wrong, hope the lad does well 👍

Benda should have been our first choice keeper from the 20/21 season, instead we wasted a loan on bringing Woodman back, who was certainly no better. Then we dropped £350k on Fisher. Can't really blame the lad for wanting to go anywhere else because he's clearly not valued here.
