Just chill, lay back in a darkened room with a favourite drink and give it a try.
Some of the greatest jazz musicians playing on this track.

This is from the first album I ever bought (with my own money) and this track still holds a place up there as one of my favourites.

As you might have gathered by now music is a big part of my life, and this track has a huge influence on the way my life changed back in 1973.
As Simon Bates might have said…
This is our song.

It was great then and is now. I’ve still got my original vinyl album bought not long after release. 👍

I’m going to see Jimmy at the Cheltenham Literature Festival next week.
Classy as f*ck me.

You’re only going to get another selfie. ✌️

Today in 1969.
George Harrison's song ’Something’ was released in the US (31st Oct in the UK) as the "A" side of a Beatles' 45, a first for Harrison. Along with Lennon and McCartney's 'Come Together', the single went on reach No.1 on the US chart the following month. Both tracks were lifted from the Abbey Road album.

Went to see Jan Akkerman and his band in concert two years ago in Ede, Netherlands. He played Sylvia amongst a medley of Focus hits towards the end of his set. Magic. He's still got it.

My story of Sylvia is down to my God given talent of not being able to play the guitar very well. 🙄
I was trying to learn the chords to the start of the song back in 1973, and kept getting one wrong, when a young girl came up to me and told me the correct one. She was a piano and flute player to a very good level. Well I tried it and lo and behold …
With a little more help from her I could now play Sylvia. The young girl turned into Mrs Mute, we’ve been together since that day and married 44 years, so my God given talent was good for something.

A great song and a great story.
