As soon as everyone realises that this government has no interest in stopping boats crossing the channel with asylum seekers on board the more sense it will make to them. It’s so transparent it’s ridiculous. Yet it works. People still fall for it.

People still fall for any old shit spewed out by the daily mail.

Anyone know what's happened to Johnsons phone and the whatsapp messages?

People are way too far down their right wing rabbit holes to see the wood for the trees now.

It seems to be the only thing the Tories are actually bothered about atm.

Cost of living crisis? Nope.
NHS crisis? Nope.
Sh!t in the rivers and seas? Nope.
Climate? Nope.
Tax reform? Nope.
Housing? Nope.
BUT SMALL f*cking BOATS, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!!!!!

Instead of blaming the UCHR, 'lefty lawyers' and all and sundry for the failure of your small boats policy, reinstate legal routes and start processing the applications you utter clowns, no need for hotels, bacteria ridden barges or 'detention estates' then.
Process the applications and get those who meet the criteria to stay to join our workforce and pay taxes and then those who don't meet the criteria can legitimately be deported but until you process the applications, you don't know which is which FFS.

I won't comment very much on this, but from what I have seen there are certain people getting very rich off this. Be it Hotels or whatever, from what I have seen it's worse than the covid ppe scandal.

You are correct that some people are getting very rich out of it. Investment companies have bought up hotels, done deals with the home office to turn them in to hostels, sold shares in the enterprise (including to Russian investors) and in turn charged a couple of grand a week to stick four in a room. Who’s money do you think the home office is spending to pay the investment companies?

On the OP, Sunak claims stopping the boats is the countries priority?!! WTF. It’s a pimple on the arse of this rotting corpse of a country, but it gets the knuckles draggers and Brexit mob on board to deflect from the real issues killing people.

It's not the country's priority at all it's the Tories' priority and the gammons who hang on their every word. Do they really think that someone who has to choose between eating and heating (or will in a few months time) or someone in need of medical treatment but can't get a GP appointment or someone whose mortgage repayments are going up by £500 a month, actually give a toss about some small boats that have absolutely zero impact on their lives? The Tories and their friends in the media have to keep this topic in the public consciousness just so they can been seen to be doing something because they sure as hell aren't doing anything about anything else that people really do care about. They also don't want to solve the boats problem because a) they've made it their raison d'etre and if they solve it, they won't have anything to replace it or worse still, have to do something worthwhile and b) more importantly, they won't be able to say they're trying their best to solve this "massive" problem but, you know, as hard as we are trying, we're being thwarted at every turn by lefty lawyers, the EU, the Labour Party, the UCHR, International Law, black people, gay people, trans people, lefty journalists, lefty radio presenters, the BBC, the SNP, the Green Party, the LibDems, etc, etc, etc so it's their fault not ours.

When are they going to understand that the Country's real Priority is to get this bunch of useless, corrupt charlatans to just FÜCK ÖFF NŎW.

Guy who owns the hotels they are staying in has made £25 million

(1) Build a purpose-built detention centre to get all of them out of hotels.

(2) Set up legal routes via our embassies so that the traffickers don't have a business.

(3) Process asylum claims faster. Why is it that we are doing that lower than we were 2 years ago?

(4) Give all asylum seekers temporary visas so that they can get paid work and pay taxes. We've got thousands of vacancies now that workers left because of Brexit.

(5) Stop demonising the asylum seekers as criminals because they are "illegal" immigrants when there isn't any legal way to get here (unless you're a blonde Ukrainian).

(6) Stop pretending that we as a nation are doing our bit when France and Germany have taken in 10 times as many people.

This is not rocket science, but I really, really don't understand what this government's plan to solve this is.

Well said Glyn, it's really not difficult is it?

To answer point 3, the Government are purposely strangling the system to make it slow. That's what they want.

Anyway, you will still have people here in our area who will think you are talking rubbish and the Government are doing their best. A lot of them will be semi educated as well would you believe

Nice to know there are people out there with a modicum on intelligence. On the plus side this approach is failing so badly that it is only the gammons who will keep voting for them.

On the last point, they don’t have one and it’s quite deliberate. The more people crossing the channel the happier the government is. It’s amazingly transparent yet some either can’t or don’t want to see it cos foreign people.

Yep. There are certain Tory-linked people whose companies have cleaned up from both situations, despite having an awful track record in delivery. It’s the Tory way.

With regard to points 1 & 2, France has already intimated that we can set up a UK application processing centre in France but to the Brexit Tories that amounts to cooperation with an EU country. Once processed, anyone meeting the UK asylum criteria can then be sent to the UK via a safe route and anyone failing the criteria stays where they are.
