Brown Sugar

It does exactly what it says on the tin. If it's not about football then it belongs in here for discussion. Once again we ask that you respect your fellow posters.

One of the DJ’s on Planet Rock won’t play it anymore.

Great tune, lyrics were ropey as hell when written, today they’re just chronic to listen to.

It is/was a great tune and the audience participation when played live is outstanding.

Absolutely. Every generation has its evolvement challenges, and these sets of issues seem to be ours. I suppose we should set aside romantic affiliates to the past and embrace how those adversely affected feel. This includes all aspects of persecution, minorities etc.. The older we get, the harder it is to change I suppose, but we should.

Should have split up after brown sugar, they did some great music but everything after that was mediocre at best, the Beatles and led zeppelin quit at the right time, the strolling bones carried on and became embarrassing , they knew their hardcore fans would turn up for tours and keep the money rolling in, a great band who went on for 40 years to long

Complete and utter nonsense.
I saw them in Cardiff in 2018 and they were absolutely outstanding and I’m not a massive fan of them.

“Should have quit after brown sugar”

Then they wouldn’t have released what is often regarded as their greatest album, Exile on Main Street. Like Darran, I saw them in Cardiff that night and they were absolutely superb.

Yes, like a lot of us I was there too. They were far, far better than I expected them to be - one of the best gigs, if not THE best, I've ever been to.

I didn't say that they didn't carry on being a good live group but from about 1974 they were done creativly , from then 13 albums that got average reviews in over 40 years , they carried on for the tour money and jaggers ego , mind you most bands carry on far to long, mainly for the money

Big Oasis fan aren’t you? Bit much chiding other bands for a lack of creativity when you hanker after a Beatles tribute act.
