Re: Russell Martin

Not saying that the reports of Martin turning down the job is true but…

If we have an assistant manager and a mid-table L1 manager turning us down having got to the playoff final last season, somethings not right is it?

Re: I can't be the only one...

Generally I don’t care much about friendlies, especially watching them in full. Nice to win them but they don’t mean too much...particularly when we have no manager. Tonight doesn’t give too much of an indication of anything. £5 to watch on SwansTV too... Money was going to Altzeimer charity....

For the first time since relegation, looking at that lineup, I feel like our transition back to ‘Championship squad’ is complete.

Re: Ian Walsh on radio Wales earlier

If the owners put in £5million that would be £1,050,000 from the trust £3,050,000 from the consortium & £900,000 from individuals. Or a 5m loan at a high interest rate to cover the risk. All this stuff whining about 'investment' every year is so tiresome. It's not my cup of tea being owned by a US ...

Re: Choose our new manager

Former Chelsea assistant boss Jody Morris is thought to have spoken to Swansea about their managerial vacancy, while MK Dons' Russell Martin and Lincoln's Michael Appleton have also been linked. The Swans are also believed to have discussed the job with at least one overseas manager. https://www.bb...

Re: John Terry leaves Villa

I'm not entirely sure that Terry will ever have a career in management, to be honest. I think his ego would mean that he would want to walk into a fairly 'big' club, i.e. Championship upwards...but I think that the backlash there would be from ANY fanbase to him would mean that it would stop a club ...

Re: John Terry leaves Villa

I don't think there's any chance he'd come here, tbh. He'd be massively polarising in terms of the fan base.

The one positive would be having a 'name' at the helm, which would make us attractive to loanees and signings.

Re: Eustance has turned us down then?

I don't want to say that we're a poisoned chalice, because we have a great club here. However, I think anyone who signs up to this job has to accept that on paper, he'll be seen as less than Steve Cooper. We won't finish higher than we did last season without Ayew. Now, we all know that there's mor...

Re: What do we look for in an assistant manager?

It’s a good question but I don’t know what the answer is. Until someone goes for it you’ll never know. It’s a genuine question, not belittling the suggestion of Rangel...but I think some would take him (for example) instead of a seasoned, experienced assistant manager. Anyone here could take the jo...

What do we look for in an assistant manager?

I've seen a lot of ex-players thrown about for this, e.g. Rangel, who is a bloody lovely bloke and Swansea legend. But can he coach? Do these people have coaching badges, do they have experience of managing people? Does it matter? Does their nationality matter? Genuine question. Does Swansea legend ...
