The Swans and West Ham have both confirmed that Flynn Downes has completed his move to the Hammers for the traditional “undisclosed fee”
The links for the Swans midfielder were revealed yesterday and with Downes a West Ham fan it became a natural move trumping the interest that was being shown by another Premier League club in Crystal Palace.
Speaking via the West Ham official website, Downes saidย โItโs a surreal feeling to have joined my boyhood Club,
โI feel like Iโm dreaming.
โItโs been my dream since I was a little boy to join this Club – itโs an absolute privilege. This is my Club, so I couldnโt be more delighted.ย Iโm glad to be here and I canโt wait to get started.
โI want to be the best I can be and this feels like the perfect opportunity to test myself against the very best players in the Premier League.
โPlayers have come to West Ham from the Championship and progressed to international honours. Thatโs something you canโt ignore. The managerโs track record of bringing players through was a big motivation in me joining the Club.
โIโm so grateful for the opportunity to be a West Ham player.โ
Good Business, getting ยฃ8-12mil. in for a player who cost just ยฃ1.53 and valued at ยฃ1.8mil. (Transfermarkt)
