Cardiff City are understood to be close to signing Manchester City midfielder Tommy Doyle, following the 20 year old’s loan return from Bundesliga 2 team SV Hamburg.

The Manchester City midfielder was linked with a move to Swansea earlier in the transfer window but, according to the BBC, the Bluebirds look set to seal another loan signing after Cody Drameh – another reported Martin target – joined from Leeds.

Russell Martin confirmed yesterday after the 1-1 draw at Huddersfield that signings are close, but admitted “we are spinning so many plates.”

A full back is expected to be near the top of the shopping list for the Swans boss with Jake Bidwell heading to Coventry City, whilst a midfielder is also wanted with Jay Fulton and Yan Dhanda expected to find pastures new before February 1st.

MK Dons duo Harry Darling and Matt O’Riley continue to be linked, but may be out of the club’s price range.
