The knock on effect of the re-signing at Manchester United of Cristiano Ronaldo could now have a second impact for the Swans as reports suggest that we are interested in making a loan move for the highly rated Anthony Elanga.

The arrival of Ronaldo has already sparked a move to Leeds United for Dan James which will put some money in the Swansea City coffers and now we hear that we are one of a string of Championship clubs interested in a move for Elanga who is likely to leave on loan for his own development.

And he could link up in South Wales with Ethan Laird who has made a bright start to his Swansea career with some good performances.  Elanga made his Premier League debut at the end of last season, netting a goal in Man Utd’s 2-1 win at Wolves on the final day of the campaign

The Manchester Evening News Reports: The Swedish forward has been one of the standout stars for Manchester United this summer after an excellent pre-season in the first-team.

Elanga, 19, netted two goals across three friendly fixtures in the off-season but saw his opportunities cut short after injury ruled him out of the final pre-season match vs Everton.

Almost half of the sides in the Championship have shown some interest in signing Elanga on loan at some stage this summer with fresh enquiries received about his availability ahead of Tuesday’s deadline.
