Cullen backs the boss amidst Crystal Palace and Fulham speculation

In a summer where both Crystal Palace and Fulham were linked with a move for Steve Cooper it would be easy to understand if the players returned to training this week slightly distracted by all the rumours.

It is widely speculated that Cooper had at least informal talks about both jobs but ultimately as Palace went for Patrick Viera and Fulham for Marco Silva he remains at Swansea and currently working with his squad ahead of the new season which is now a little over four weeks away from starting.

But Liam Cullen says that it is very much a case of business as usual as the club work through their plans as they eye up a return to the Premier League after the heartache of play off defeats in the last two seasons, including one at Wembley back in May.

“The only thing we look at is that he’s the manager,” Cullen told BBC Sport Wales.

“He’s the manager until he’s not the manager. We come in, we listen to him and do the training that he sets. We play for him.

“As far as we’re concerned, he’s been our manager for the last two seasons and he is now.”

There has been some speculation as to whether the rumours of the summer may leave the players questioning Cooper’s commitment to the club but the words of Cullen are clear enough althoughย “He’s the manager until he’s not the manager”ย will no doubt lead to more speculation of hidden meanings and conspiracy theories!
