Jordan Morris gives his latest rehabilitation news

Jordan Morris may not have been at Swansea for long but I am sure I won’t be alone in watching his rehabilitation from injury with interest in the hope that he can recover once again from what was a very serious injury.

Morris was injured at Huddersfield bringing to an end his Swansea career almost as soon as it started and he almost immediately returned to the states for the surgery that he needed to begin that recovery.

And whilst it is not anticipated that he will play again in this calendar year he is hopeful that he can come back from the injury as his latest update confirmed โ€œI think itโ€™s pretty similar to the last one โ€” eight to 10 months is what theyโ€™re saying,โ€ Morris said. โ€œItโ€™s going well so far, itโ€™s definitely a grind and frustrating at points, but every day getting a bit better and it’s just a lot of rehabbing.

โ€œI think thereโ€™s definitely an itch to come back quick, but obviously Iโ€™m not going to rush anything and see how things go down the line,โ€ Morris said. โ€œIt’s still pretty early on, but obviously thereโ€™s a lot of important games and you just miss playing, you want to be back on the field so I think that itch is definitely, but the most important thing is getting it right before you come back.

โ€œWhen I go into training, itโ€™s always nice to be able to hang out with them before a hard day,โ€ he said.

The Sounders havenโ€™t skipped a beat with Morris out. The club have also managed to find success despite injuries toย Nico Lodeiroย andย Stefan Frei, sitting atop the Western Conference with 17 points from seven matches.

โ€œItโ€™s been great. The mentality of this team is unbelievable,โ€ Morris said. โ€œYou see guys step into positions and just feeling like thereโ€™s no change. I think we have a lot of really quality players obviously. And then this new formation is working really well. I think it puts a lot of guys in their best positions and itโ€™s obviously been a really good start to the season.โ€
