Back To Winning Ways Vows Leon

The Swans surrendered a three month unbeaten run at Vicarage Road on Tuesday night but have the chance to put that right with back to back home league games against Doncaster and Charlton.

Sandwiched in between the two is a small matter of a 5th Round FA Cup replay but Britton knows that the importance of bouncing back in the league is very high on the priority list at the moment as they look to continue their play off drive.

Speaking to the Western Mail, Britton said โ€œWeโ€™ve attracted publicity with the FA Cup run, and thatโ€™s obviously a good thing

โ€œBut thereโ€™s no added pressure. We put the pressure on ourselves because weโ€™re the ones whoโ€™ve set our own high standards.

โ€œSince the gaffer has come in, weโ€™ve played this passing game which is very easy on the eye and makes us difficult to beat.

โ€œAnd we want to carry on playing that way because we feel weโ€™re good enough to do it.

โ€œWeโ€™re professional footballers, so thereโ€™s no way any of us wanted the run to come to an end,โ€ said 26-year-old Britton.

โ€œThereโ€™s certainly no sense of relief โ€“ we wanted to carry it on until the end of the season.

โ€œNow the next challenge is to begin another run, starting on Saturday.

โ€œWeโ€™re disappointed with the performance against Watford

โ€œAll round, we were pretty sloppy.

โ€œNormally we play at a high tempo, get the ball down quick and play it, but we didnโ€™t do that.

โ€œAnd itโ€™s hard to put a finger on why that happened.

โ€œWe just want to put it down to a bad day at the office.

โ€œWe need to get back to the standards which set us on this run in the first place โ€“ and push ourselves back up the table.

โ€œFortunately, the next game comes around very quickly, which is good.

โ€œSo itโ€™s a chance to pick ourselves up, wipe the slate clean and get started again.

โ€œThe last time we played Doncaster, they were on a bit of a bad run.

โ€œBut it is fair to say that theyโ€™re in a very different position now.

โ€œBoth teams know each other well after both coming up from League One last year and itโ€™ll be tough.

โ€œWe need to wipe the Watford game from our memory โ€“ and if we can start another unbeaten run, that would do us very nicely.

โ€œIf we could go the final 14 games unbeaten โ€“ though preferably not drawing eight on the bounce again โ€“ Iโ€™d have thought weโ€™d be in the play-offs by the end of the season.โ€
