Swans Draw Brighton

Swansea have been drawn at home in the First Round of this season’s LDV Vans Trophy against Micky Adams’ Brighton & Hove Albion.

The draw which was made yesterday is as usual split into two sections, North and South and all ties in the first round will be played week commencing 15th October.

All three Welsh clubs have been drawn at home with Wrexham facing Wigan and Cardiff drawing Rushden & Diamonds. Once again, the competition includes sides from the Conference with last season’s Conference Runners-Up, Yeovil, facing Queens Park Rangers, in the competition for the first time.

Statistically, Brighton have not won at the Vetch for 7 visits and have only won 3 of the last 12 meetings between the two sides. However, they are, at the time of writing, the current second division leaders after taking our third division crown last season.

No mistake, this is one of the hardest draws that Swansea could have received at this stage of the competition and they will need to be playing well if they are to progress further in the competition.
